We believe 2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. We believe “All Scripture” to be the entire Bible both Old and New Testaments. We believe “God-breathed” is verbal, plenary, infallible, unlimited inerrant, inspired Word of God. This means the Bible is the result of the breath of God. Human authors wrote the texts, but the Bible originated as an action of God who breathed it out. The Apostle Peter reveals as much as possible how God used human writers to produce the Bible. 2 Peter 1:21 21 for ano prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men bmoved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
We believe that God eternally exists as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and each person is fully God, and there is one God. We believe that the doctrine of the trinity is progressively revealed in the Bible. All three persons are represented in the following verses:
Matthew 3:16 16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and 1ahe saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and 2lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "aThis is 1My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."
We believe that Jesus Christ is both true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross to make atonement for our sins according to the Bible. He rose, bodily, from the dead and ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father. He is our Advocate and High Priest, who intercedes for us in heaven. Romans 1:1-4 Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, 1acalled as an apostle, b set apart for c the gospel of God, 2 which He a promised beforehand through His b prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son, who was born a of a 1descendant of David b according to the flesh, 4 who was declared a the Son of God with power 1by the resurrection from the dead, according to the 2Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,
We believe that in the present age, the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, by convicting people of sin and of righteousness. Further He is the one who regenerates sinners, indwells, guides, instructs and empowers believers to live as Jesus Christ did. John 16:7-11 7 "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the 1a Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, b I will send Him to you. 8 "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; 9 concerning sin, a because they do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning a righteousness, because b I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; 11 a and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
We believe that although man was created in the image of God, through disobedience of one man, Adam, in the Garden of Eden, plunged the whole human race into sin. Therefore all people are sinners and in need of regeneration and salvation. Romans 5:12 12 Therefore, just as through a one man sin entered into the world, and b death through sin, and c so death spread to all men, because all sinned—
We believe that the judgment for sin was given to Adam by God before the initial act of sin and remains the same to every one born into the human race.
Genesis 2:16-17 16 And the LORD God a commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not 1eat, for in the day that you eat from it a you shall surely die." Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of a sin is death, but the free gift of God is b eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is solely and wholly the work of God’s grace, without any human works. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For a by grace you have been saved b through faith; and 1that not of yourselves, it is c the gift of God; 9 a not as a result of works, that b no one should boast. The only ground for justification and salvation for people who believe is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3-4 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade-- kept in heaven for you,
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in the same way He ascended to heaven to take those who believe in Him to be with Him for eternity.
Acts 1:10-11 10 And as they were gazing intently into 1the sky while He was departing, 2behold, a two men in white clothing stood beside them; 11 and they also said, a" Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into 1the sky? This Jesus, who b has been taken up from you into heaven, will c come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."
Titus 2:11-14 11 For the grace of God has a appeared, 1bbringing salvation to all men, 12 1instructing us to deny ungodliness and a worldly desires and b to live sensibly, righteously and godly c in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the a appearing of the glory of 1bour great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; 14 who a gave Himself for us, b that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and c purify for Himself a d people for His own possession, e zealous for good deeds.
